This case study highlights a project aimed at improving scalability and operational flexibility in Oracle EBS by enabling the management of multiple operating units under a single responsibility. The challenge stemmed from extensive hard coding and customizations that limited the system’s adaptability. A flexible, future-proof solution was developed and implemented to eliminate these limitations, significantly simplifying ongoing operational expansion.
The project was initially started a year prior to the involvement of the current team and focused on integrating multiple operating units under a single responsibility within Oracle EBS. However, progress was hindered due to significant challenges:
A key requirement was to enable a new operating unit for one division without needing additional code modifications, which was not possible within the existing system architecture.
The primary objective was to remove all hard-coded logic in Oracle EBS to create a scalable, dynamic solution that supports future growth without repeated development efforts.
Despite a 3 to 4-month delay caused by internal priority shifts, the technical implementation was successfully completed and is now awaiting business testing.
The delivered solution is expected to bring the following benefits post go-live:
Enables any operating unit or division to be activated without code changes.
Reduces IT dependency for future expansions.
Improves scalability and flexibility in Oracle EBS.
Simplifies multi-operating unit management under a single responsibility.
Supports efficient and cost-effective growth.
