IaC Enablement Process

This case study outlines a strategic initiative to enhance Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) by enabling the management of multiple operating units under a single responsibility. The existing system was heavily constrained by hard-coded logic and customizations, limiting its scalability and flexibility. To address these challenges, the team developed and implemented a dynamic, future-ready solution that eliminated these restrictions. Despite delays caused by shifting internal priorities, the technical implementation was successfully completed and is now ready for business testing. The solution is expected to simplify future expansions, reduce IT dependency and support efficient, cost-effective growth within Oracle EBS.

Problem

Statement

This initiative focused on improving the scalability and operational flexibility of Oracle EBS by allowing the management of multiple operating units under a single responsibility. However, the system faced significant limitations due to hard-coded logic and extensive customizations in Oracle Forms and PL/SQL packages. These restrictions prevented the use of Oracle’s native functionality and required code modifications to add new operating units. The project had initially begun a year earlier but was stalled due to these technical constraints.
