MC Product Hub

The SCM company, with support from Bonbloc, implemented Oracle Product Hub (PIM) to replace legacy systems and manage growing product complexity. Integrated with Oracle EBS, the solution centralized product data, standardized item creation and descriptions and enabled real-time synchronization using GoldenGate. It enhanced data governance with role-based access, provided audit tracking and offered a detailed, user-friendly product view for both Retail and Restaurant divisions.

Problem

Statement

The SCM company is looking to implement a robust and holistic enterprize application like Oracle Product Hub to handle the growing volume and complexity of their product/Item line in Both Retail and Restaurant divisions.

The company originally relied on home-grown solutions like Oracle JD Edwards to manage their product data and manually loaded the data into Oracle EBS for configuration, order fulfillment and invoicing/billing transactions.

With the implementation of new generation applications like PIM, they would be well placed to compete with other players in the country.

Main challenges with present system:

  • Product data was spread across many legacy systems with severe data discrepancies.
  • New part/Item creation long hours and data inputs are taking place in old fashioned ways.
  • Numbering of products and descriptions were inconsistent.

Solution

Proposed

Bonbloc along with customer IT team, assessed current Product Lifecycle Management(PLM) process and capabilities.

Came up with the outcome of a prioritized PIM/Oracle Product Hub deployment roadmap integrated with exising Oracle EBS suite.

Leverage Oracle out of box features and customized the application to certain use cases/business requirements to build a scalable and user-friendly system with less clicks and more key-board navigations.

Successfully deployed initial PIM/Oracle Product Hub data model to business users in Retail Division.
